24hr Accident Helpline is a not-for-profit organisation comprised of a marketing consortium made up of firms of Solicitors who are members of 24hr Accident Helpline.

Will we disclose the information to third parties?

If you contact us regarding a personal injury claim, we only pass your information on to an approved member solicitor firm within the 24hr Accident Helpline organisation. Your details will be treated in strict confidence by the firm who deals with you.

Analytics and Re-marketing

To enhance your experience across the 24hr Accident Helpline website, please note that we use ‘Google Analytics’ and ‘Google Remarketing List for Search’ to store information about how visitors use our website so that we may make improvements to the customer journey and give visitors a better user experience.

Google Analytics is a third-party information storage system that records information about the pages you visit, the length of time you were on specific pages and the website in general, how you arrived at the site and what you clicked on when you were there. These cookies do not store any personal information about you eg. name, address etc. and we do not share the data. Internet Based Advertising

We use Facebook, Twitter and Google Adwords advertising services and as such there are tracking codes installed on our website so that we can manage the effectiveness of these campaigns. We do not store any personal data within this type of tracking.

IP addresses

An IP or Internet Protocol Address is a unique numerical address assigned to a computer as it logs on to the internet. Amelans Solicitors do not have access to any personal identifiable information and we would never seek this information.

When you visit our website, we store web server logs which show your IP address, this gives us information such as which pages you looked at, whether the page request was successful or not and which browser you use to view the page. The use of this data is purely for statistical purposes or to perform any legal access request that we receive.

The purpose of controlling and/or processing your Personal Data

24hr Accident Helpline will process your Personal Data for the purpose of dealing with an enquiry made by you in respect of pursuing a legal claim arising from an accident in which you sustained personal injury and/or for the purpose of dealing with any other such enquiry you make with 24hr Accident Helpline.

The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data

24hr Accident Helpline will obtain your express consent for the processing of your Personal Data only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and/or ascertaining whether you may have a legal claim and/or to allocate your enquiry to a member of the 24hr Accident Helpline members’ panel, again only for the purpose of ascertaining whether you may have a legal claim.

In circumstances where the 24hr Accident Helpline member Firm agrees to act on your behalf, that member Firm should provide you with its Privacy Policy in relation to the Personal Data it will control and/or process on your behalf prior to processing your Personal Data.

Will we disclose the information to third parties?

We will never pass your information on to sister companies or other companies, except in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in accordance with your consent (see “The recipients or categories of recipients of your personal data” section below.

24hr Accident Helpline will comply with your request within one calendar month from the date following the date of receipt of your request, save that 24hr Accident Helpline can refuse or charge for requests which it considers are manifestly unfounded or excessive and in these circumstances, we will tell you why we are refusing to comply and/or charging in respect of your request and the remedies available to you.

If we need more time to comply with your request we will communicate this to you.

How Long Will We Retain Information For
24hr Accident Helpline will retain information in relation to your enquiry for the following periods:
– Call recordings – a period not exceeding six months from the date of your call;
– Paper and/or electronic files comprised of 24hr Accident Helpline’s records pertaining to your enquiry – for a period not exceeding seven years from the date of your initial enquiry.

The recipients or categories of recipients of your personal data
24hr Accident Helpline confirm it will be necessary to provide your Personal Data to the following recipients for the reasons stated below:
(i) To a telephone answering service selected by 24hr Accident Helpline and acting as agents for 24hr Accident Helpline for the purpose of processing your enquiry as to whether you have a legal claim and/or responding to any other such enquiry you make with 24hr Accident Helpline;
(ii) With an organisation selected by 24hr Accident Helpline to provide support services comprised of customer service and/or administrative services on behalf of 24hr Accident Helpline;
(iii) To an 24hr Accident Helpline member or members for the purpose of processing your enquiry as to whether you have a legal claim in respect of which the 24hr Accident Helpline member is willing to act on your behalf and/or responding to any other such enquiry you make with 24hr Accident Helpline. Any further processing of your data once the 24hr Accident Helpline member has entered into a contract with you would be the responsibility of the 24hr Accident Helpline member.

In circumstances where the 24hr Accident Helpline member Firm agrees to act on your behalf, that member Firm should provide you with its Privacy Policy in relation to the Personal Data it will control and/or process on your behalf prior to processing your Personal Data.

24hr Accident Helpline will regularly review its Privacy Policy in respect of its website and such review will be performed on an annual basis. This Privacy Policy was last updated and reviewed in May 2018 and changes made to it to reflect the additional requirements in relation to data protection by GDPR.
